Pike Fishing off to BIG Start

Joel Prunty, All-Canada Show, media manager - This year’s Ontario pike fishing season is well under way and we recently heard from Bill Pryndik at Golden Hook Camp on Gull Rock Lake which is near Red Lake, Ontario and is known for “big pike”.

I visited Bill in early May on our annual trip around Northwest Ontario and at that time the ice had just gone out and it would be another week before pike fishing picked up.

Bill said several groups of pike fisherman have now been in camp and many pike over 36 inches have been caught. The picture above is from his group out of Kansas City with a nice pike well over 40 inches.

From what we’ve heard from other lodge owners recently the early fishing season is is off to a BIG start.

Good luck to everyone heading up to Canada soon!
